Coffee in good spirits
 QUalifying Competition 

 

Creative and exciting, the U.S. Coffee in Good Spirits Competition tasks baristas and barkeepers to create a cold coffee cocktail and a warm/hot coffee cocktail for two taste judges in 10 minutes. Competitors must use the provided espresso machine for at least one of the two beverages.

Competitors must use the provided sponsor espresso and filter coffee grinders which will be in a fixed location on the left side of the machine.

For the 2019 season of the United States Coffee in Good Spirits Championship there will be two Qualifying Competitions leading up to the national championship. In order to move on to USCIGS, Barkeepers must first qualify at the U.S. CoffeeChamps in Denver, CO or Nashville, TN. Each Qualifying Competition will host 24 competitors, for a total of 48 spots.

Registration Information

Registration Fee: $125

SCA/BGA/RG/CTG members get 2 free attendee passes for their coaches/helpers

Registrations are non-refundable/non-transferable. The name on the registration is the competitor, this cannot be changed or substituted. Companies holding in-house competitions will need to have their competitor’s name ready prior to the start of registration.

This competition will sell out very quickly! Be sure to have everything you need to register ready prior to registration opening. To register, you will need the name of the person competing, their contact information, a credit or debit card for payment, and if applicable, the competitor’s member number.

Competition Overview

Online Learning Sessions

The Online Learning Sessions are for competitors and judges. The U.S. Competitions Working Group will go over the Rules & Regulations, highlighting any Rules changes, and competition procedures.

Online Learning Sessions are mandatory.

These sessions will be recorded; those who cannot attend the live session(s) may watch the recordings. However, attendance at a live session is highly recommended, so everyone has the opportunity to ask questions about the Rules & judging protocols.

Sessions are open to everyone. Competitors, coaches, co-workers, business owners, judges, and volunteers are welcome to attend both sessions.
