- Competitor’s preparation skills will be assessed by 2 technical judges. A Head Judge oversees all these judges but does not score.
- Competitors must use the provided sponsor grinder(s) which will be in a fixed location on the left side of the machine.
Online Learning Sessions:
The Online Learning Sessions are for competitors and judges. The U.S. Competitions Working Group will go over the Rules & Regulations, highlighting any Rules changes, and judging protocols. Competitors must take one of the Barista Competitor sessions as it acts as the the competitor meeting. Judges must take the Barista Judge session.
Online Learning Sessions are mandatory.
These sessions will be recorded; those who cannot attend the live session(s) may watch the recordings. However, attendance at a live session is highly recommended, so everyone has the opportunity to ask questions about the Rules & judging protocols.
Both sessions are open to everyone. Competitors, coaches, co-workers, business owners, judges, and volunteers are welcome to attend both sessions.
